Roku have announce that Amazon Prime Instant Video is finally arriving for UK owners of the popular media streamer. Previously only available for US users, it was long thought that Roku part-owners, Sky, were blocking the arrival of the Amazon service on competition grounds; if this was the case then we're glad that they've changed their stance.

The arrival of Amazon means the Roku devices are now the best supported media streamers in the UK - the only major omissions are now Sky Go - a service which is only available on mobile devices and major consoles (Xbox One owners will at last receive that one later this year) - and iTunes; something we won't see on anything other than Apple TV. With the 4K support of the most recent Roku 4, it means that the company all of the ingredients to become the dominant player.

We're huge fans of Roku so we're now just keeping our fingers crossed that the Roku 4 makes it to UK shores soon. In the mean time, Amazon Prime Video should be available right now on existing devices. Whoop!
