It’s Australia Day again, so time to throw another... errr podcast on the barbie!! Yup we’re keeping the tradition started last year of choosing an Antipodean theme on the 26th of January & this year we’re giving specific focus to the highlights of ozzie cinema in the past year or so. As always our Australian cinema expert Gary Couzens will be writing a series of film & disc reviews as a general tie-in to Australia Day and he’s also joined the podcast team to make sure our discussion and factoids are up to snuff!
Some of the films we’ll be examining should be familiar to British cinemagoers in 2014, titles like the Mia Wasikowska star vehicle Tracks, ghost frightener The Babadook, and David Michôd’s “dustopic” thriller The Rover (Guy Pearce vs. Robert Pattinson). We’ll also spend a bit of time with slow-burning thriller Mystery Road, Rolf de Heer’s Charlie’s Country and more!
Episode 42 contributors: Matt Shingleton and Gary Couzens
