Tarantino sues Gawker for Hateful Eight leak

News
It has been less than a week since director Quentin Tarantino shelved his Western project The Hateful Eight after a draft leaked onto the Internet. But the saga continues as the Pulp Fiction director has filed a copyright lawsuit against Gawker Media, alleging that they are responsible for 'distributing' copies of his script.

Tarantino, who was said to be "very, very depressed" after the leak, has condemned Gawker and has said that they have "crossed the journalistic line by promoting itself to the public as the first source to read the entire screenplay illegally."
In retaliation, Gawker editor John Cook has responded to the claims by citing that the director is responsible for the leak, blaming that the media attention of the project only served to increase the public interest in the film.

Experts say that Tarantino will have the upper hand as the content in question is Tarantino's intellectual property, and with many copyright cases now favouring the creator, Gawker may have a fight on their hands.
