Gran Torino (R2/UK BD) in June - Updated

Warner Home Video have announced the UK DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Gran Torino on 29th June 2009. Clint Eastwood (who also directs) stars as Korean War vet Walt Kowalski, a man who doesn’t much like how his life or his neighbourhood has turned out. He especially doesn’t like the people next door, Hmong immigrants from Southeast Asia. But events force Walt to defend those neighbours against a local gang which leads to an unlikely friendship between Walt and a young Hmong teenager who tried to steal Walt's prized possession: a 1972 Gran Torino.

For Hmong Americans, Gran Torino marks a cinematic debut - the first time they have participated as characters, cast and crew in a major motion picture. The documentary takes a very personal look at the Hmong experience and their stories, both on and off the set.
