The Midnight Meat Train (R1/US BD) in February

Lionsgate Home Entertainment have announced the US DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of The Midnight Meat Train on 17th February 2009. Directed by Japanese filmmaker Ryûhei Kitamura (Versus) in his American debut, the film is based on legendary horror writer Clive Barker’s popular short story from his Books of Blood collection. The screenplay was adapted by Jeff Buhler. The cast includes Bradley Cooper, Leslie Bibb, Tony Curran and Vinnie Jones.

The DVD ($28.98 SRP) and Blu-ray Disc ($39.99 SRP) feature the unrated director’s cut of the film and the following extras (in HD on Blu-ray):
  • “Anatomy of a Murder Scene” featurette - a first hand look into how the grizzly killings from the film were created
  • “What’s in Mahogany’s Bag” featurette - a look inside the killer’s tool kit
  • “Clive Barker: The Man Behind the Myth” featurette - the horror legend shares the origins of Midnight Meat Train as well as presents a never-before-seen tour of his personal art studio and paintings

The DVD is presented in anamorphic widescreen with English DD5.1 Surround audio and English and Spanish subtitles. The Blu-ray is presented in 1080P Widescreen with English 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and English SDH subtitles. Region coding is TBC.
