Any Way the Wind Blows in August

Axiom Films have announced the UK DVD release of Tom Barman’s Any Way the Wind Blows (2-Disc Special Edition) for 21st August 2006 priced at £19.99. Belgian musician Tom Barman, founder of the rock band dEUS and concept group Magnus, with techno prophet CJ Bolland,has made a wild, ambitious debut that draws its influences from sources as varied as Woody Allen, P.T. Anderson, Frank Zappa (whose song gives the film its title) and Jeff Wall.

Playing out to a killer soundtrack, Barman’s slice of life film is filled with family crises, romantic entanglements and eccentric coincidences… An auspicious and playful debut, this film moves, and doesn’t want to stop.

Featuring music by Herbie Hancock, Squarepusher, Queens of the Stone Age, Charles Mingus, Yazoo and many others. The film’s signature tune is the single SUMMER’S HERE, a hypnotic collaboration between Barman and CJ Bolland, under the banner of Magnus.
